A 100-room Courtyard by Marriott will soon grace the vicinity of the exquisite Lagos Marriott Hotel in GRA, Ikeja, Lagos, Nigeria. The visionary billionaire and esteemed businessman, Dr. Taiwo Olayinka Afolabi, spearheads Sifax Group, an ever-expanding conglomerate making waves in Nigeria's lucrative sectors like aviation, hospitality, maritime, logistics, and oil and gas. Hailed as Africa's fastest-growing conglomerate, Sifax Group continues to break new ground.
One of the notable subsidiaries, Sahcol, leads the aviation sector, while Macfolly Hospitality Ltd, another flagship, owns the prestigious and award-winning 4-star Lagos Marriott Hotel, Ikeja. Currently acclaimed as one of Lagos' finest and most luxurious hotels, it likely ranks within the top three in Nigeria.
Since its grand opening in 2021, the Lagos Marriott Hotel has garnered numerous awards and maintained full bookings. This tremendous success has spurred the development of the upcoming Courtyard by Marriott, which promises to be a 100-room marvel adjacent to its more exclusive sister brand.
Courtyard by Marriott, under the esteemed Marriott Hotel umbrella, offers a more affordable bistro-style experience catering to business and luxury travelers. Despite being built on a smaller property space compared to the upper-class Marriott brand, it boasts world-class facilities synonymous with the Marriott name.
Unlike the 250-room Lagos Marriott Hotel, which took seven years to complete, the Courtyard by Marriott is slated to open in 2027, with a construction duration of just 24 months.
The groundbreaking ceremony for this exciting project was recently held, attended by hotel promoter Dr. Taiwo Afolabi, his wife Mrs. Folasade Afolabi, MD of Macfolly, Mr. Chike Ogeah, and the distinguished HRM, Alaiyeluwa, Oba Abdulrosheed Akanbi, Telu I, Oluwo of Iwo.
